Josephine A. Eller

Josephine A. Eller. 94, of Lufkin, was born November 11, 1913, in Woodruff County, Arkansas, the daughter of the late George W. and Easter (McClain) Richmond. She passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Eller was a homemaker, and a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a 50-year member and Past Worthy Matron of the Lufkin Chapter #382 Order of the Eastern Star, with several appointments. Mrs. Eller was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church since 1972, and taught the Adult Sunday School Class for more than 30 years.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Nancy Eller of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; stepson and wife, James A. and Joy Eller of Arlington; daughter-in-law, Patricia Ann Eller of Fort Worth; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Mrs. Eller was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Eller; son, George E. Eller; sisters, Dovie Waycaster, Minnie Hensley and Ann Hicks; and brother, Ausbun Richmond.

Pallbearers will be Bob Waltman, Ronnie Lusk, Johnny Kendrick, Doug Maddux, Karol Green and Wilburn Booth.

Services for Mrs. Eller will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Denman Avenue Baptist Church, with Pastor Charles Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
