Lufkin Police Report - 5/13/08

THEFT: 4500 BLOCK OF S MEDFORD. Complainant advised that a store's nightly deposit was stolen from an employee's car Saturday night.

THEFT/B: 300 BLOCK OF MEDFORD. Complainant reported that a pair of shorts was stolen from his gym locker at school Monday and his wallet and cell phone were in the pockets.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING: 300 BLOCK OF S CHESTNUT. Complainant reported that a check was stolen and forged at a local grocery store earlier this month.

THEFT/FELONY: 300 BLOCK OF S MEDFORD. Several students reported cell phones, cameras, cash and other items stolen from lockers in the girl's athletic department last week.  A female juvenile student was charged with felony theft of the items which totaled over $1500.

BURGLARY: 1000 BLOCK OF IDYLWOOD. Complainant reported that her home was broken into Monday and jewelry, a laptop computer and a digital camera were stolen.

THEFT: 1600 BLOCK OF SAYERS ST. Complainant reported that a chain hoist was stolen sometime the past five days.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING: 800 BLOCK OF N TIMBERLAND. Complainant reported that his checkbook was stolen and two checks forged on his account in April.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING: 1900 BLOCK OF TULANE. Complainant reported that one of her checks had been stolen and forged.

TERRORISTIC THREAT: 100 BLOCK OF BRENTWOOD. Complainant reported that a known suspect left a threatening phone message for her with a co-worker.

THEFT: 700 BLOCK OF N TIMBERLAND. Complainant reported that a man and his girlfriend rented three television sets and sold them at a pawn shop without ever paying the rental fees.

DEBIT CARD ABUSE: 800 BLOCK OF JAMES ST. Complainant reported that someone tried to make an unauthorized purchase using her debit card number sometime within the past month.  The complainant was alerted of the activity by the fraud division of her credit union.
