Nacogdoches Police Report - 5/14/08

RUNAWAY JUVENILE: 4800 BLOCK OF NORTH STREET. A mother had gone to Gladewater and recovered her runaway juvenile child. After arriving back in Nacogdoches, they stopped at Wal-Mart. The juvenile then left the company of the mother and ran away again. Investigation underway.

INJURY TO A CHILD-ASSAULT: 300 BLOCK OF ELLINGTON. A man struck a family member with a belt. The family member was holding an 8 month old baby. During this assault, the belt struck the 8 month old, causing a small laceration. James Smith was arrested.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE: 3200 BLOCK OF SOUTH STREET. An 18 wheeler was broken into and a CB radio was taken.

THEFT: 300 BLOCK OF SWEETGUM. Unknown persons removed a 1980 ford pickup from complainant's yard. Vehicle was not running for over a year.

FURNISHING ALCOHOL TO A MINOR: 300 BLOCK OF WEST SEALE. Officers responded to a noise complaint. Officers determined that Brent Manis was furnishing alcohol to minors. He was arrested.

HIT AND RUN: 100 BLOCK OF RITCHIE STREET. Complainant reported that unknown persons drove through his yard and caused damage to the landscape.

DWLI: 1000 BLOCK OF EAST MAIN STREET. Robert Davis was found to be driving with a revoked DL. He was arrested and his vehicle impounded.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 1200 BLOCK OF NORTH STREET. Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call. Officers located a female slumped over the steering wheel. Patricia Miller was arrested after officers located suspected hydrocodone and cocaine in the vehicle.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 100 BLOCK OF NORTH CHURCH. Unknown suspect's broke the window out of a building.

THEFT: 3801 NORTH STREET (FRED'S). Complainant reported that several suspects entered the store and attempted to leave without paying for a basket full of items. When approached, the suspects fled. Investigation underway.
