Freedom Fighters: Rod Skelton

Rod Skelton was only 17 when he joined the Marines the day after his high school graduation. Before the year was out, he was in Vietnam. Fighting was constant from the very beginning. Skelton was wounded during his first tour of duty in Vietnam and lost many friends during his three tours. There were so many casuaties in one battle, Skelton helped load six truck loads of dead Marines. That experience haunts him to this day.

Rod Skelton has devoted much of his life to others, as a pastor and now as head of his "Spur And Cross Ministry". His chuck wagon is a familiar site at charity fund raisers, especially at events for wounded soldiers. He says it's the least he can do to honor those left behind on the battlefields of Vietnam.
