Lucille Burnett, 94, of Lufkin, was born June 20, 1913, in Rusk County, Texas, the daughter of the late Lee (Jackson) and Lum Busby. She passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008, in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Burnett was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a seamstress at Burnett Draperies. She enjoyed working with her flowers and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Henry Williams of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie Lee and Dorothy Burnett of Carthage, Donald (Mac) and Janie Burnett of Conroe, Bill Burnett of Henderson, Glen and Connie Burnett of Huntington, Louie and Connie Burnett of New Caney and Kenneth Burnett of Lufkin; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Mrs. Burnett was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Burnett; son, John Wayne Burnett; parents, Lum and Lee Busby; and sisters Pauline Fowler and Irene McCormick.
Pallbearers will be Mike Williams, Darren Williams, Troy Burnett, Terry Burnett, Keith Burnett, Steven Burnett, Zachary Kendrick and Jeff Burnett.
Services for Mrs. Burnett will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Roy Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery in Rusk County.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
