After a recount where the outcome was the same for two candidates running for city council in Diboll, there will now have to be a run-off.
City Manager, Kenneth Williams, said candidates Fred Mitchell and Gary Mike Smith had exactly the same number of votes after the recount. They tied for the third city council position. The run-off election could happen June 14th at City Hall. This date is not concrete.
KTRE has learned that Mitchell has not filed a complaint with the Diboll Police Department but there still could be an investigation into possible voter fraud.
