Mable Faires, 82, of Lufkin, was born May 27, 1925, in Wells, Texas, the daughter of the late Lottie Mae (Dorsett) and Lonzo Glover. She passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Faires was a homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was devoted to her family and loved taking care of them. She was a member of the Assembly of God Faith.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Helen Faires of Huntington; grandchildren, Dennis, Lesha, Jacob, Randy, Cliff, Karl, Wendy and Steven; 6 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sara and James Andrews of Diboll; daughter-in-law, Connie Shelley; and a number of other family members.
Mrs. Faires was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. Faires; sons, Johnny G. Faires and Jerry E. Faires; grandson, Johnny Faires, Jr.; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
Graveside services for Mrs. Faires will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, in the Moore Cemetery in Nacogdoches, with Bro. Jackie Nicholas officiating.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
