Susan Cobb Stevens, 61, of Beaumont, was born May 3, 1947, in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Beatrice (Sanders) and Ernest Cobb. She passed away Friday, May 30, 2008, at her residence.
Mrs. Stevens was a homemaker, and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her grandbabies. She was very out-going, enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, and loved to play golf. Mrs. Stevens was of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Stevens of Beaumont; daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Chad Conner of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Monica Gilbert of Lufkin; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Lawana and Giles Holst of Port Neches; stepson, Jerry Stevens, Jr. of Beaumont; grandchildren, Taylor and Lucas Gilbert of Lufkin, Chelsea Conner of Lufkin, Randi and Easton Holst of Port Neches and Lindsey Stevens of Beaumont; sister, Carolyn Williams of Lufkin; a number of nieces, nephews and other family members; and a host of friends.
Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, brother and sister.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Stevens, Jr., Giles Holst, Chad Conner, Larry Hill, Al Cortez and Junior Meineke.
Services for Mrs. Stevens will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Larry Dorman officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
