An East Texas man is under investigation after he took a police car on a joyride last night. Between 1:30 and 3:15 this morning a Huntington police car came up missing. 27-year-old Donald McKinney of Corrigan reportedly drove the car from Huntington to Corrigan. Along the way he stopped at a party where he was apparently jumped by a group of men. He left the party, and ditched the car. Police were tipped off and found McKinney after a short foot chase. He was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during the fight at the party. Once discharged police arrested him on an outstanding warrant from Missouri for aggravated robbery. Charges for the theft are pending but police say McKinney will possibly face a third degree felony theft charge.
