Vivian "Nash" Johns
Services for Vivian (Nash) Johns, 91, of Lufkin, will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Private interment will follow on Wednesday in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Johns was born July 27, 1916, in Trinity County, Texas, the daughter of the late Missouri (Goines) and Guide Nash, and she passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008, at her residence.
Mrs. Johns was a homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was raised in Burke, lived in Beaumont for many years, and retired back to Burke. She was a great cook, was active in her church and loved her family. Mrs. Johns was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Lea' Morgan and husband Steve of Pollok; grandsons, Max Goff and wife Susan of Montgomery and Rodney Goff and wife Michele of Vinton, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Steve, Charlie, Malinda, Colton, Johnathan, David, Tony and Amy; brother and sister-in-law, Guy (Sambo) and Margie Nash of Lufkin; sister, Maxine Stringer of Lufkin; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Johns was preceded in death by her husband, William Carl Johns; children, Shirley Crawford, Mike Johns and Gary Johns; and grandson, David Johns.
The family will receive friends beginning at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday until service time at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.
