Novie Diebel Monday Kingston, 81, of Pollok, was born March 7, 1927 in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of the late Burtie (Fizell) and Henry Diebel. She passed away Monday, June 2, 2008, in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Kingston was a homemaker, and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed fishing and loved to bake for her family and friends. She was a member of Living Waters of Wells.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James Robert and Zelda Monday of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Charles Whitworth of Pollok; brother, Reverend Thomas Ray Diebel of Lubbock; stepsons, Ronnie Kingston and Delmer Kingston, both of West Texas; stepdaughter, Linda Grant of West Texas; 6 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Kingston was preceded in death by her son, Allen Ray Monday; and her husbands, John Morris Monday and Raymond Kingston.

Pallbearers will be Charles Whitworth, Kenneth Parrott, Todd Toten, Jonathon Smith, Carl Truett and John Glover.

Mrs. Kingston's family wishes to express an special "thank you" to all of the employees of Hillside Plaza Care Center for the love and care shown to their loved one.

Services for Mrs. Kingston will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jim Maddox officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
