Funeral services for Carol Hooper of Lufkin will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clawson Assembly of God Church with Brother Kevin Poage officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.

Mrs. Hooper was born March 19, 1948 in Jones County, Mississippi to the late Helen (Hollomon) and Thomas Perkins, and died Monday, June 2, 2008 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Hooper had resided in the Lufkin area 23 years. She was the owner of A Family Nursery and had also worked for Timberland Nursery for 18 years. Mrs. Hooper loved animals and her pet, "Charlie Brown". She was a member of the Clawson Assembly of God Church.



Survivors include her husband, Kim Boyd Hooper of Lufkin; son, Kenneth Ray Strickland, Jr. of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Audra Strickland of Lufkin and Keith and Krista Chandler of Ohio; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Liz and George Perry of Nacogdoches; six grandchildren; sisters, Michele Harkins of Georgia and Shirley Chandler of Laurel, Mississippi; brother, Tommy Perkins, Jr. of Laurel, Mississippi; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Audie Guthery, Kenneth Reynolds, Bobby Guthery, Jim Arriola, Bobby Guthery, Jr. and Dusty Walker.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
