NPR In East Texas

Tune into Red River Radio for the remainder of this week and you'll find the National Public Radio station left Shreveport for the time being and is on the road.   NPR is broadcasting live from Nacogdoches. Anchors opened their 'Getting To Know You'   broadcast  Wednesday  morning at the Fredonia Hotel. They'll be there again tomorrow. Local guests are interviewed and local bands provide live performances.

Kermit Poling, Red River Radio general manager said, " Really down here we have about 23,000 weekly listeners to Red River Radio and out of the whole network we have about 100,000."

On Friday engineers will set up the remote at Angelina College. The fund drive is emphasizing the need to pay for the care of transmitters that allow the NPR signal to reach Deep East Texas.
