Fishing Derby Benefits Innovative Homes of Deep East Texas

Dozens of people came to the Ellen Trout Zoo for the Second Aannual Fishing Dderby.

Friends and family, food and of course lots of fishing was all to benefit Innovative Homes of Deep East Texas. Several local businesses sponsored the event, even donated trophies. The biggest catch of the day was a ten pound catfish.

"We've named it the John "Pop" Stanton Fishing Derby and today we had some big winners, big fish were caught, a lot of prizes and they just really enjoyed themselves," said Tammy Brown, Day Habilitation Coordinator with Innovative Homes of Deep East Texas.

The organization has been providing home and community based services to the mental health and mental retardation community for more than 14 years.
