Lufkin/Diboll 7 on 7 Advance to State

Despite an odd Pool A loss to Klein High School, the Lufkin Panther 7 on 7 football team advanced to the state tournament in College Station.

The Pack started quick, dismantling new district foe, New Caney, 58-0, then took out Houston Chavez 39-19 to clinch the pool, before falling to Klein 34-25.

The Pack would rally in the semi-finals to beat Klein Collins, 40-21 to clinch a spot in the state tournament.

Klein Forest, the winner of the other semi-final, also advanced to College Station.

Diboll Advances as well.

The Diboll Lumberjacks were also in attendance at Lufkin High School, despite the fact that they had already clinched a spot in the 3A State Tournament in College Station.

The 'Jacks, came to play though, running through bigger schools like Lumberton, 39-26, before putting a beating on Kingwood 40-21.

The 'Jacks would eventually fall to Klein Collins 44-21.

The 'Jacks advanced to the state tournament by virtue of a 40-27 win over Carthage last week.
