E. W. Jeanes, 93, of Houston, was born July 16, 1915 in Rockland, Texas, the son of the late Maudie Bell (Lawrence) and Edward Elo Jeanes. He passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2008, in Houston.
Mr. Jeanes was a retired master plumber, as well as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Tommy Jones of Houston; son, John Jeanes; grandchildren, Christine Lockstedt, David Lockstedt and Ryan Lockstedt; brother, Edward Elo Jeans, Jr. of Mesquite; sister, Mabel Franco of Grandbury; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Mr. Jeanes was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Collins Jeanes.
Expressions of sympathy in Mr. Jeanes' memory may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children and Burn Center, 6977 Main St., Houston, Texas 77030.
Services for Mr. Jeanes will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2008, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Luther Bolenbarker officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
