Michael "Mike" Floyd Jones, 49, of Lufkin, was born July 20, 1958, in Port Arthur. He passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008 surrounded by his family.
Mike was the owner of Custom Cut Tractor Works. He was a life time resident of Lufkin and a graduate of Hudson High School. Mike was a member of the Cross Road Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his son, Joshua Webb Jones of Lufkin; daughters, Brandi Nicole Jones of Lufkin, Amanda Leanne Manley of Lufkin and Kaitlyn Ann Jones of Greensboro, North Carolina; grandchildren, Briar Joseph Manley and Christian Don Weathers; his parents, Floyd and Carolyn (Grimes) Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Tracy and Laura Jones of Hudson; sisters, Vicky Shoemaker and her husband, Delwin, of Lufkin, and Gail Brasuell of Lufkin; and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Dianne Jones, in 1989; and his grandparents, Laden Reuben and Mary Pauline (Vaughn) Saxton and Homer Webb and Ollie Myrtleen (Minton) Jones.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Jones, James "Spike" Patton, Kevin Tullos, Dwayne Shoemaker, Dustin Shoemaker and Jacob Jones.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2008 at the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Troy Uselton officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
