DaVita Reopening Wednesday

After two months, DaVita Lufkin Dialysis Center is ready to start accepting patients.

A State Health representative says the state's investigation is complete, allowing the center to operate under a "phased reopening," or gradually increasing services as time and improvements progress.  The state says conditions at DaVita were corrected and now the facility must have independent monitors to stay open.

A former DaVita nurse has been accused of intentionally injecting two patients with bleach. Kimberly Clark Saenz has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.  Both patients survived.  The exact number of patient deaths under review has not been released.

We'll have continuing coverage of this story tomorrow on KTRE's East Texas News MidDay, which is also streamed live on ktre.com's home page.
