In January S.F.A. baseball and softball players learned they wouldn't get the new ballpark they were promised. Athletic director Robert Hill said the school would try to improve the current facility at Nacogdoches City Park.
The first step came tonight as Nacogdoches city commissioners approved a 20 year lease to S.F.A. The agreement gives S.F.A. baseball exclusive rights to Jaycees Field, where they've played the last three years.
Softball will keep their home field at the city park adjacent to the baseball field. Hill has said he'd like to expand bleachers at the ballparks and add lights.
