Audrey Faye Tucker
Audrey Faye Tucker, 86, of Lufkin, was born April 21, 1922, in Huntington, Texas, and she passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in a local retirement facility.
Mrs. Tucker was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed hunting, gardening and cooking, and was an avid reader. She volunteered with the Woodland Heights Auxiliary. Mrs. Tucker was a member and Sunday School teacher at O'Quinn Baptist Church, and loved her family and church very much.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Frances Tucker of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Coy Simms of Nacogdoches and Gayle and Ronnie Jackson of Pollok; grandchildren, Coy James Simms, Kelley Chaviers, Melanie Miller, Leigh Speer and Rhonda Bellm; 9 great-grandchildren; best friend, Jeffie Oliver of Lufkin.
Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, S. M. Tucker in 1983; mother and stepfather, Virdie (Fancher) and Otis Read; father, J. V. Larabee, Sr.; brother, J. V. Larabee, Jr; and sisters, Leona Johnson and Veller Mae Matthews.
Pallbearers will be Coy James Simms, Scott Miller, Johnny Chaviers, Weston Crawford, Scott Speer and Tom Bellm.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Nichols and Gilbert Rice.
Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Tucker's memory may be made to O'Quinn Baptist Church, 7433 US Hwy 69 N, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
Services for Mrs. Tucker will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at O'Quinn Baptist Church, with Reverend Steve Cowart, Reverend M. L. (Bud) McGee and Bro. Raif Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
