Funeral services for Bonnie Mae Paul, 96, of Zavalla will be held Friday, July 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Robert Martin, Sr., Robert Martin, Jr. and Kevin Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.

Mrs. Paul was born August 12, 1911 in Lone Star, Texas to the late Dora Ann (Underwood) and Henry Helms, and died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 in the Hospice Inpatient Unit at Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Paul resided in Angelina County most of her life. She was a homemaker, and was a member of the Pentecostal church. Mrs. Paul was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, camping and playing Wahoo games with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Deloris Charlene Tidwell of Zavalla; daughters and sons-in-law, Margie Nell and Robert Martin of Zavalla and Bonnie Jean and Delmar Lawson of Hudson; daughter-in-law, Margrette Paul O'Neil of Houston; 31 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; special friend, Rita Grimes; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bennie Paul; son, Merlyn Paul; daughters, Joyce Jordan and Louise Worthy; grandsons, Bennie Jo Sisson, Bobby Powers, Gary Paul; great-grandchildren; Jacob Pinner and Mikie Paul; great-great-grandchild; Danny; and sister, Myrtle Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Larry Wayne Paul, Mark Martin, Ricky Martin, David Lawson, Phil Lawson, Greg Scott, Jr., Jessie Moody and Jerry Lawson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Delmar Lawson, Robert Martin and Mrs. Paul's great-grandsons.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family extends special thanks to the staff of the Hospice Inpatient Unit at Memorial Hospital.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
