Cushing Hires Tunstall

Former Palestine athletic director Glen Tunstall was one of six finalist for the Diboll A.D. position.  That gig is going to Thomas Sheppard.  Lucky for Cushing.

Wednesday afternoon Tunstall interviewed for the Cushing A.D. job.   Wednesday night his hire had been approved by the school board.

Interim Superintendent Michael Davis was impressed with Tunstall.  "We're very excited to have him on board," Davis says.

Tunstall went 33 and 14 as head football coach in Palestine.  He was reassigned by Palestine ISD Superintendent Jerry Mayo last November.

Tunstall replaces a popular A.D. in Corey Spivey.   Fresh off a successfully football season in which Spivey led the Bearkats to a 6-and-4 record, he left to take the athletic director position at Junction High School.
