Summer Food Program

by Christa Lollis

East Texas families can feed their kids for free this summer.   The summer food program has sites around the state that provide free breakfast and lunch to kids 18 and under.

Lufkin ISD is one of the districts involved in the program and they say parents need to take advantage of this great money saver. The sites will be open through August 7th but if kids don't show up the sites could close earlier.

2 sites in Lufkin have already stopped serving food. The Salvation Army in Lufkin and the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church will no longer be serving the meals.  If you would like a list of sites you can visit .
