Salvation Army Says Goodbye

by Christa Lollis

For the third week in a row the Lufkin Salvation Army has held a celebration to honor a member either coming or going.   Today they said goodbye to corps member Kristen Walter.

Kristin will be headed to Atlanta at the end of the week for a two year training program. While she has been in Lufkin she has assisted the local organization in several areas but says it's working with kids that makes her most happy. "It's a lot of fun and it makes sure that I don't have to grow up yet, so I can still be 17, 16 or younger, even though I'm 24 but I still get to be a kid, so it's a lot of fun," Walter said.

She also said she hopes to eventually be the divisional youth secretary of the state to continue her work with kids.
