Lufkin Police Report - 7/09/08

ARSON: 500 BLOCK OF W FRANK AV. Complainant reported seeing smoke in his van around 4am Wednesday and found that someone had set some paper and cardboard on fire in the back of the van.  The fire went out by itself and did not damage the van.

TERRORISTIC THREAT: 900 BLOCK OF S THIRD. Complainant reported that her live-in boyfriend threatened to blow her and her kids up during an argument early Wednesday morning.  The suspect left the scene prior to officers' arrival.

BURGLARY/HABITATION: 100 BLOCK OF BROADDUS. Complainant reported that his home was broken into over the weekend and a .22 rifle and a small television were stolen.

BURGLARY/BUILDING: 900 BLOCK OF TURNER ST. Complainant reported that a bottle or prescription medication was stolen from his truck Monday night and that a box of video games was stolen from his garage.

THEFT: 4600 BLOCK OF MEDFORD. Complainant reported internal theft by an employee failing to charge friends for merchandise and giving large discounts to friends without authorization.  The employee confessed to the complainant and was terminated.

ASSAULT/C: 2700 BLOCK OF MOFFETT. Complainant reported that she was shoved by a known suspect during an argument Tuesday.

BURGLARY: 600 BLOCK OF RICKS RD. Complainant reported that her home was broken into sometime Monday night or Tuesday and a VCR was stolen.

BURGLARY/VEHICLE: 1500 BLOCK OF COPELAND DR. Complainant reported that the soft door to her Jeep was cut and the stereo stolen over the weekend.

HARASSMENT: 300 BLOCK OF LAZY OAKS DR. Complainant reported receiving threatening phone calls from a known suspect.

THEFT: 700 BLOCK OF TIMBERLAND. Complainant reported that some copper plumbing pipe was cut off and stolen from behind the business Tuesday morning.

BURGLARY/VEHICLE: 1400 BLOCK OF S BROADMOOR ST. Complainant reported that his truck toolbox was pried open Monday night and two toolboxes containing assorted hand tools were stolen.

FRAUD: 100 BLOCK OF BUTLER. Complainant reported that someone is working at a company in Detroit, Michigan using the complainant's social security number.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 3900 BLOCK OF MEDFORD. Complainant reported that an unknown person put soap in the fountain at the entrance of a shopping center Monday night.  The bubbles created a traffic hazard when they got onto the feeder road and the soap damaged five of the six pumps in the fountain.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE: 1800 BLOCK OF E DENMAN AV. Complainant reported that his orange Mazda Tribute vehicle was stolen by an unknown person Monday night.
