Funeral services for Nancy Jean O'Quinn Evans, 82, of Longview, will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2008, in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Brian Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans was born May 7, 1926, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Alma Hanna (Riley) and Wiley O'Quinn.  She died Thursday, July 10, 2008, in a Longview nursing facility.

Mrs. Evans had resided in Longview for the past several years, and was a former longtime resident of Lufkin.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, whom everyone affectionately called "Granny Jean."  She and her late husband, Doyle Evans, had traveled extensively all around the State of Texas.  Mrs. Evans had previously been employed as a Teacher's Aide with the Iola School District for 5 years.  She was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Gilmer.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Perry and Linda Sanford of Longview, Reagan and Bonnie Sanford of Diana, Leeland and Sherina Sanford of Iola, and Dennis and Kristy Sanford of Hallsville; daughter, Debra Mills of Gladewater; daughters and sons-in-law, Olga and Ray Portales of Bedias, Nora and Nolan Wren of Iola, Jeannie Evans of Bedias; sons and daughters-in-law, Doyle, Jr., and Debbie Evans of College Station, James and Becky Evans, and Ronnie and Linda Evans, all of Iola; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hubert O'Quinn, John Riley and Jannette O'Quinn, all of Pollok, and Clyde and Jane O'Quinn of Huntington; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Joe Allen Sanford; the father of her children, Noah Perry Sanford; and her husband, Doyle Glenn Evans.

Pallbearers will be John Paul Spencer, Riley Dean O'Quinn, Ben O'Quinn, Gary Spencer, Terry O'Quinn, and Keith Spence

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Womark and Benny Franco

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 1402 Rice Road #10, Tyler, Texas 75903.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
