LISD holds finance meeting

The school board members held a finance meeting Tuesday, with a number of topics on their agenda.

Superintendent Roy Knight says the new bond construction for the district is running smooth and on schedule.

He also says he is happy to announce that student meal prices will not go up this year

Plus, right now they are discussing having a school-based health center at Lufkin Middle School.

"With our high percentage of low income families, we see this as a real opportunity to help our kids with basic health needs without having to leave the school campus as is common with middle school aged kids," says Knight.
