New website should help tourists to Nacogdoches

By Nacogdoches Convention & Visitors Bureau

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Convention & Visitors Bureau is excited to announce the upcoming launch of their newly redesigned and revamped website http://www.visitnacogdoches.org/. Staff of the CVB and representatives of Point A Media have been hard at work for the past four months gathering data and redesigning the current site.  "In addition to an appearance overhaul, we've created a site that invites users to contribute content, create personal accounts and share their findings about Nacogdoches with others, which will hopefully entice more people to visit," said Dana Britton of Point A Media. The website will officially go live to the public on Friday, August 1st.

The new www.visitnacogdoches.org promises to be the one site for anyone interested in planning a trip, convention, group tour, or even a community event in Texas' Oldest Town.  With detailed itinerary planning features, an extensive calendar of events, and even a postcard sending feature, the new website promises to launch the Nacogdoches Convention & Visitors Bureau well into the future.  "Our website is one of our greatest marketing tools," said Executive Director Melissa Sanford, "we are thrilled with the work Point A Media did and we can't wait to go public with our new website."

For more information about the new site or about the launch party please contact the CVB at 936-564-7351 or 1-888-OLDEST-TOWN or log onto www.visitnacogdoches.org.

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
