EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - Some strong storms came rolling through the East Texas area this afternoon and early evening.

Numerous reports of downed trees and power lines were reported all throughout the area. Angelina County Sheriff's Department officials tell us some lanes of HWY 69 were blocked for a while due to downed trees.

There was minor damage at Hudson High School where the gate to the campus was damaged. And there were reports of homes in the Hudson and Huntington areas that had some rooftop damage.

Also, two oil tanks off of Jack Narin Road were apparently struck by lightning, causing a fire there.

David Collier with Oncor Electric Delivery said that earlier today, about four thousand customers were without power, most of them located in the Huntington and Diboll areas.
