Tropical Storm Edouard has gained intensity tonight as winds have increased from 45mph to 60mph.
This still keeps Edouard as a tropical storm. Keep in mind that for Edouard to become a hurricane, sustained winds need to reach 74 mph.
At this point, we believe that Edouard will make landfall sometime late Tuesday morning or early Tuesday afternoon as a strong tropical storm or weak category 1 hurricane.
We have numerous Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings stretching from Port O'Connor, TX, over to the mouth of the Mississippi. We also have a Hurricane Watch in effect for coastal counties and the offshore waters along the upper Texas coast.
The one interesting feature to watch is where Edouard makes landfall. The further up the coast, the more impact it will have on our weather here in East Texas.
Impacts include heavy rain, tropical storm force winds, and isolated tornadoes.
