Lufkin Police Report - 8/06/08

THEFT: 2600 BLOCK OF S FIRST. Complainant reported that three males were seen breaking into his vehicle early Wednesday morning.  The suspects left when a witness drove up and saw them.  The door glass was broken on the complainant's vehicle but nothing was noted missing.

BURGLARY/VEHICLE: 1500 BLOCK OF S FIRST. Complainant reported that he returned to his unlocked vehicle around midnight and saw two men near his car.  The men left in a dark colored car and the complainant found that his CD player and amplifier were missing.

ASSAULT/AGGRAVATED: 400 BLOCK OF E LAUREL. Complainant reported that he was assaulted by four males.  The complainant knew one of the suspects.  The complainant was treated at a local hospital for injuries to his head and ribs.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 1800 BLOCK OF W FRANK AV. Complainant reported that a known suspect damaged his car window by slamming the car door hard during an argument.

BURGLARY/VEHICLE: 700 BLOCK OF S TIMBERLAND. Complainant reported that his cell phone was stolen from the console of his open-top Jeep Saturday night.

THEFT: 1100 BLOCK OF S TIMBERLAND. Complainant reported that a female took the pillows and linens from a motel room they had rented Monday night.

THEFT/FELONY: 1700 BLOCK OF CULVERHOUSE ST. Complainant reported that a 9mm pistol was stolen from his car.  Complainant believes it was stolen about a month ago when a relative and several friends borrowed the car.

FRAUD: 300 BLOCK OF E SHEPHERD. Complainant reported that several unauthorized charges were made on her credit card at Lufkin stores after it was stolen several days ago.

FRAUD: 400 BLOCK OF N TIMBERLAND. Complainant reported that cash was withdrawn from her bank account without authorization last week.

FALSE REPORT: 300 BLOCK OF S TIMBERLAND. A woman lied to police about being the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident that occurred on Timberland Dr. last week.  The woman called and recanted her story that she was driving and the man who was actually driving gave a statement that he was the driver involved in the crash and lied because he didn't have a valid driver's license.  Charges of false report pending on both the man and woman and the man will be charged with traffic offenses regarding the accident.

ASSAULT: 1200 BLOCK OF MORNINGSIDE. Complainant reported that a known suspect grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground during an argument early Tuesday morning.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 700 BLOCK OF TIMBERLAND. Complainant reported that a hole was knocked in a plate glass store window sometime Monday night.
