NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Graduation day can be the biggest day of a person's life, but sometimes the scheduling just doesn't work out.

A Lufkin native graduated from SFA with a perfect 4.0 today, but she chose not to walk across the stage.

Heather Nolan Yerkes graduated with the high honor while maintaining a busy schedule recitals, practice and work. She has already moved to the Fort Worth area with her husband and they are both pursuing music careers. Yerkes said, "People oftentimes think that being a music major is not very hard, but I would beg to differ."

Nearly six hundred graduates walked across the stage today to receive their degrees.
