Former Lufkin doctor headed to court

UNITED KINGDOM (KTRE) - A doctor, who used to work in Lufkin and is accused of manslaughter in great Britain, is now asking a judge in the United Kingdom to throw out the charges.

Priya Ramnath is accused of killing a patient that was in her care in 1998. She was arrested in Lufkin last year and was extradited to Great Britain earlier this year.

She has now filed a dismissal application. She will appear in front of a judge in October. Her Lufkin attorney, Albert Charanza says, that trial should take two to three days. Stay tuned to KTRE and for updates with that ruling.
