LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Angelina College Lady Roadrunners have arrived. A.C. softball signed four more players Thursday morning, putting their roster at twenty. The group includes a starting pitcher and three local faces.
Nacogdoches' Brittany Crain, Hudson's Casey Arriola and Central's Amber Jones are Lady Roadrunners.
Splendora's Stephanie Loge will take over pitching duties. Loge had a chance to play for Baylor, but they had no remaining scholarships. The other three girls are just thrilled that they made a college roster.
"It feels great." Crain says. "It makes you just want to jump up and down and scream and stuff. It feels good because I didn't think I was going to make it."
Now they want area support for a roster full of area players.
"Hopefully no one will underestimate us,"Jones says. "I think we'll surprise a lot people. Hopefully we get a lot of people out."
