Seasons of Hope breaks ground on new Lufkin facility

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A new wellness facility that's brought controversy to East Texas has broken ground in Angelina County.

Seasons of Hope is expanding their current services to build a new woman's dorm.

The controversy started two years ago when people heard about them coming.

Director Carlene McMullen says once people realized it wasn't a rehab facility, the center started getting more community support.

McMullen says Angelina County is infested with drugs and Seasons of Hope is trying to change that.

"What we need is a solution. That's what we are trying to offer here is a solution.  Not just a place to live."

McMullen says they've had tons of support up until this point, but they still need churches and individuals to help their ministry a reality.
