LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A man stands trial for a copper theft that happened last September, and is found guilty by a jury.

Travunis Brooks sold the copper to Guy's Scrap Metal last year, after it was stolen from an area business.

Two other suspects actually stole the 20 to 30 rolls of wiring and then took it to brooks' house.

There they burned off the rubber insulation before selling it.

Guy's will not be prosecuted because they had no way of knowing it was stolen.

Brooks has not yet been sentenced. A judge is expected to decide in about six weeks.
