LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The City of Lufkin is working on their budget for next year.
Tuesday, they had a public hearing during their City Council meeting.
The hearing was the first of three. Tuesday, City Council members summarized budget items and then allowed for citizens to give input or ask questions.
The main change for this year includes 3%-5% cost of living increases for employees.
There is no proposed increase however for solid waste, water or sewer services.
Two more hearings will also be held on August 26th and September 2nd and then the City Council will vote.
