LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Angelina Beautiful/Clean is launching a phone-book recycling program this week.
They want everyone to gather all those old phone books we have stacked up and take them to area drop-offs.
This is the 17th year for the phone book drive and Angelina Beautiful/Clean Director Tony Moline says in recent years, the campaign has been outstanding.
Last year they collected 5.8 tons and this year's goal is seven tons.
Through September 25th, yellow recycling containers will be located in the parking lots of Brookshire Brothers Fresh Market on Chestnut, Brookshire Brothers Fresh Market on Gaslight in Lufkin, Brookshire Brothers in Diboll, Brookshire Brothers in Huntington, and beside the Consolidated Communications Business Office on First Street in Lufkin.
Residents of Lufkin may also place the books in their blue curbside recycling container along with their newspapers.
