Obama watch-party at SFA

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The Young Democrats of SFA host a watch-party for Barack Obama.

Several party supporters showed up, including students, adults and some local candidates for the upcoming election.

Attendees listened to speeches from several local democrats until Obama took the stage in Denver to accept his party's presidential nomination.

Yvonne Aiavolasiti, A watch-party attendee says, democrats have been hiding in Texas for the last few years, and they are just starting to come out of the woodwork.

"The Democrats were too afraid to say anything, because they felt like a minority.  So I believe that now is our time, things look so favorable to take over the White House. We need a change."

The Republican National Convention kicks off next week and John McCain is expected to announce his running mate tomorrow.
