Lufkin Police Report - 9/2/08

THEFT/B: 900 BLOCK OF S JOHN REDDITT. Complainant reported that a known suspect walked out of a store with three 30-packs of beer without paying for them early Tuesday morning.  A customer gave chase and the suspect dropped the beer outside and got away.

THEFT/C: 2400 BLOCK OF E DENMAN. Complainant reported that a man stole two 12-packs of beer early Tuesday morning.  The suspect was likely the same suspect listed in case above since he was wearing the same color pajama pants in both cases.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 1500 BLOCK OF BRIARWOOD. Complainant reported that the paint on her car was scratched by a sharp object while parked at her home Monday.

THEFT: 1200 BLOCK OF S CHESTNUT ST. Complainant reported that a man walked out of a store with two 30-packs of beer without paying for them Monday afternoon.  (Not related to cases above, suspect is a different race.)

THEFT/B: 2500 BLOCK OF DANIEL MCCALL DR. Complainant reported that a male suspect shortchanged a cashier for a loss of $150 two weeks ago using a classic "shortchange" scam.

ASSAULT: 400 BLOCK OF S CHESTNUT. Complainant reported that his former girlfriend cut his neck with a knife of box cutter during a disturbance Monday afternoon.  The man received first aid but did not seek professional medical treatment.

ASSAULT/AGGRAVATED: 400 BLOCK OF E LAUREL AV. Complainant reported that her husband threatened to kill her while holding a large butcher knife during a disturbance Monday morning.  No one was injured and the husband left the scene.
