Senior Nutrition Sites in jeopardy

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Several nutrition centers located throughout Nacogdoches County.   After September 15th the centers may have to close. The Nacogdoches Senior Center can no longer afford transporting food to the satellite locations. They will continue to provide the food, but someone from each community must pick the meals up and pay for the site manager's salary. Garrison site manager Edith Harrell said, " We are trying to work with some of those here in town like the Lion's Club, the city to see if we can get a little help because we do have around 25 everyday, people over 60."   Gasoline and food costs, combined with a minimum wage hike are reasons for the adjustment.
