Amethyst Productions debut play to help local woman

By Mystic Matthews

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Amethyst Carpet Production is a new company in town, bringing a social conscious to their work.

They are debuting Love Letters tonight and the proceeds from the Broadway play, playing in Lufkin will go to a local woman suffering from brain tumors.

But the night they chose to open the play at Crown Colony happens to be the first home football game for the Lufkin panthers.

Yolanda Drew, owner of the company says ticket sales have not been a problem.

"Strangely enough, we were a little worried about that too, but strangely enough, Friday is actually the bigger night."

Yana Ogletree is starring in the play which is showing tonight and tomorrow night at crown colony.  Tickets are still available, but limited.
