Benefit for fallen biker at Brother's Keeper Church

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Bikers met at Cycle Heaven Saturday afternoon to remember Donald Jackson.

Jackson was riding his motorcycle July 4th at Sam Rayburn Dam when he collided with another bike head-on.

Saturday, bikers headed to a benefit for Jackson's family held at Brother's Keeper Church.

The benefit included Bar-B-Q and an auction to raise money for the family's expenses since the grandfather's death.

"It's real easy to come together and do one event, but we are trying to let this one event catapult into being there for this family as they are raising these kids and taking care of them.  That's what we believe is the responsibility of the Body of Christ," says Pastor Dave Sarver of Brother's Keeper Church.

"Donald was a veteran, he was proud of his country and loved his family.  He'd been raising his four grandson's for a while, working to get them adopted.  He got them adopted two weeks before the accident," says Sarver.

If you'd like to help Jackson's family, who is still paying for funeral expenses, go to Brother's Keeper Church.
