Sex offender taken off the street for 25 years

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man has been taken off the streets for the next 25 years for sexual assault of a child.

Christopher Tillar was indicted by a grand jury for sex assault that he was arrested for back in January.

He will serve 25 years in a Texas Department of Correction facility.

He is also in jail for theft of a fire-arm.  That charge got him two years in a state jail.

Among those charges is another one for failing to register as a sex offender.

Tillar's previous bonds totaling more than $125,000 dollars were dropped in exchange for the time he will spend in jail.
