Oncor getting ready for widespread outages

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Oncor is "all hands on deck" this weekend as they prepare to battle their part of the storm.

With pine trees and live power lines, Oncor's area manager says power outages are a given.

The problem is there is no way to predict how much.

Oncor has called in extra teams that will help clear trees and limbs and once the storm moves through, workers will be out restoring power.

"Hospitals, nursing homes and water and sewer plants are what we'll focus on first.  Then we'll start trying to restore service to everyone else," says Oncor Area Manager David Collier.

Collier says to prepare for the worst, which would be a couple of days without power and to be patient.

KTRE will give continues updates as to how long Oncor thinks it will take to restore power.
