All games start at 7:30
The former District 20-3A team has a new home. The Bulldogs return to their old stomping ground in district 19-3A this season. Joining the Dogs are three other teams that made the playoffs in 2001.
Mexia and Groesbeck in class 3A and Trinity in class 2A. Crockett finished an up and down season with a 7-4 record last fall. They won the district title but came up short in the bi-district round of the playoffs, losing to current district rival Mexia 28-27.
Back for the Dogs are 12 starters and 16 lettermen. They will have to replace quarterback L'Tydrick Riley. He's now playing for the Aggies. Riley's cousin, Chris Riley, will make a difference for the Dogs. Chris stands 6-5 and tips the scale at 250 pounds.
With a lot of new players in key positions the Dogs aren't ready to guarantee another district title, but they are very excited about the young players and those returnees who plan on making some noise.
