Corrigan already looks like contender

CORRIGAN, TX (KTRE) -  The Corrigan Bulldogs 3-and-0 start is impressive.  Especially when you consider who they've beaten.  Corrigan owns wins over Newton, Crockett and Hemphill in the first three weeks.

The Bulldogs aren't surprised by their success.   What is surprising is that Corrigan somehow isn't ranked in the state's top ten.   There's a long season ahead, but the Bulldogs feel they've proven their one of the best.

"We probably are the favorites to win," Corrigan receiver James Pickrom says.

"I guess it's like intimidating to the other team," Corrigan quarterback Chris Drayton says.  "When it comes to the playoffs they'll look back and see we beat those teams. I guess it will put a little fear in their hearts."

Head coach Seven Armstrong is ready to call his team the favorite.

"We've had a mark on our back for a while around here," Armstrong says.  "As far as being the team to beat? We've still go to prove that down the road."

Corrigan is currently number 12 in the AP Texas 2A rankings.  The Bulldogs are at Woodville on Friday.
