WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTRE) - The Department of Labor announced a $15.9 million grant Wednesday.
The money will go to clean up efforts, for temporary jobs lke moving trees and picking up debris.
The money can also go to humanitarian efforts like clothes and food.
Brent Orrell, the Assistant Secretary of Labor says this is going to be a big project and our local governments will need help with the cost.
"There is a very significant amount of work that needs to be done. This money will help the state, county and local government cope with the cost they are incurring right now," says Orrell.
Funding of $7.9 million was made available immediately.
