Man dies in one-vehicle rollover

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A major accident on Highway 103 resulted in a man's death late Sunday.

The accident blocked the road in both directions, while the medical helicopter waited to take the man to the hospital, where he later died.

Troopers say James Murle Risinger, 64 of Huntington, was driving a 2008 Chevy truck East on Highway 103.  Risinger was about seven miles east of Lufkin, when he veered off the highway.

An Oncor worker said the truck's front wheel flew off when he hit a guy wire, which holds utility poles in place.  He says that's when the truck flipped and struck a tree.

The Oncor worker says people on the nearby road were without power for about an hour, before he could turn the electricity back on.

It took paramedics over an hour to cut the man out of the truck, because his legs were pinned in.

The medical helicopter pilot says they took Risinger to ETMC in Tyler.

Troopers say they are still investigating to see what caused him to leave the roadway and flip.

Note:  The accident victim is not former Angelina County Commissioner Jim Risinger.
