Carter Injured

(Irving-AP) -- Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Quincy Carter left tonight's preseason game against Atlanta after a jarring hit between two defenders that knocked his helmet off. Carter left the field under his own power but was taken to the locker room for evaluation after sitting on the bench for several minutes. The team said only that he took a blow to the head. He was hurt with about nine minutes left in the third quarter when he was sandwiched between defensive end Brady Smith and linebacker Keith Brooking as he threw a pass.
